The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, has announced a special national prayer for peace, stability and progress in Nigeria.
The prayer, scheduled for September 30, 2026, will take place at the Abuja National Mosque Complex from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
In a statement signed by its Public Affairs Officer, Abbas Jimoh, the Council said the prayer would provide an opportunity for Muslims to collectively seek Allah’s guidance, protection, peace and blessings for Nigeria and its citizens.
The NSCIA will also hold its General Assembly at the same venue on October 1, beginning at 10 a.m.
The General Assembly is the highest decision-making organ of the Council and brings together Muslim public office holders, representatives of the 36 State Councils for Islamic Affairs and the FCT, Islamic organisations and other prominent Muslim personalities.
The Council said the assembly would provide a platform for consultation and consideration of issues affecting the Muslim Ummah and the nation.
The NSCIA urged Muslims across the country to use the occasion to pray for continued peace, unity, security, good governance and sustainable development in Nigeria.
