Akpabio receives Arewa award, pledges support for Northern youths

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has pledged support for youth empowerment and development in Northern Nigeria after receiving the Par-Excellence Award from the Arewa Revival Project (ARP).

The award was presented to Akpabio in Abuja by the organisation’s Project Coordinator, Hon. Muttaka Ahmed Ibrahim, in recognition of his leadership and contributions to Nigeria’s democratic and legislative development.

Speaking after receiving the award, Akpabio thanked the organisation for the recognition, describing it as an encouragement to continue working towards national unity, stability and development.

He assured Northern youths of his commitment to initiatives that promote education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and economic inclusion.

The Senate President stressed that providing young people with meaningful opportunities was essential to national development, adding that investment in their potential could help promote peace, address insecurity and support sustainable development.

He also called for stronger collaboration among the Federal Government, state governments, community leaders and youth organisations to expand opportunities for young Nigerians, particularly those in the North.

Akpabio further urged Nigerians, especially stakeholders in Northern Nigeria, to support President Bola Tinubu and his administration’s re-election bid.

Earlier, Ibrahim said the award recognised Akpabio’s contributions to democratic governance and national development.

He also called for stronger collaboration between political leaders, community organisations and other stakeholders to address the challenges facing Northern Nigeria, particularly those affecting young people.

The Arewa Revival Project said the recognition reflected its commitment to celebrating distinguished public service, promoting national unity and encouraging leadership that advances peace and development.
