NAWOJ FCT Celebrates Collaboration, Milestones










The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, has shared a heartwarming Christmas message, emphasizing gratitude for the partnerships and support that have bolstered their mission throughout 2024. 

The Chairperson, Bassey Ita-Ikapng and Executives took the opportunity to reflect on the association's achievements and express appreciation to key collaborators who have contributed to its success.


The Christmas message highlighted the significant role NAWOJ FCT plays in advocating for women's and children's rights, amplifying marginalized voices, and advancing ethical journalism. "This season is a reminder of the power of unity and the importance of partnerships in achieving our goals," the Chairperson stated.


NAWOJ FCT specifically acknowledged the support of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, the Federal Ministry of Health, and the African Health Budget Network (AHBN) under the leadership of Dr. Aminu Garba Magashi. 

The association also extended gratitude to Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA), SHE Forum Africa, SHE Forum the US Embassy, and the Finland Embassy for their collaboration and encouragement. and prominent advocates like Prof. Ezekiel, Aunty Moji Makanjuola, and Aunty Evelyn Onyilo.


Special recognition was given to late Rafat Salami for her impactful contributions to the association and to the 

National Chairperson, Aisha Ibrahim, for her inspiring leadership. The executives also welcomed the newly elected NUJ FCT Executives, expressing optimism about a collaborative relationship in the coming year.



The Chairperson encouraged members to carry forward the spirit of peace, kindness, and mutual support during the festive season and beyond. “Let us continue to work together to promote justice, inclusion, and equity while amplifying the voices of the vulnerable,” the statement added.

As NAWOJ FCT looks ahead to 2025, the association reaffirmed its commitment to fostering collaboration, advancing societal progress, and achieving new milestones in advocacy and ethical journalism. The message concluded with a heartfelt wish for joy and prosperity in the New Year.
