Eid-el-Fitr: Kogi first lady urges unity, compassion among citizens

The Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has called on citizens to uphold unity, sacrifice, and compassion as Muslims across the country mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

In her Sallah message, Mrs Ododo stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, noting that it remains vital for societal growth and development. She said no meaningful progress can be achieved in an atmosphere devoid of love and mutual understanding.

According to her, the Ramadan fast serves as a period of spiritual reflection that reinforces values such as sacrifice, kindness, and care for the less privileged. She urged citizens to sustain these virtues beyond the holy month in order to build a more inclusive and harmonious society.

The First Lady also advised residents to celebrate modestly, extend support to the needy, and strengthen relationships within their communities. She further called on parents to guide their children against negative influences.

Reaffirming her commitment to the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable groups, Mrs Ododo wished the Muslim Ummah and the people of Kogi State a peaceful and fulfilling Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

She added that the lessons of Ramadan should continue to guide individuals and communities in fostering unity, compassion, and progress.
