The Presidency has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing inclusion and empowerment for persons with disabilities (PWDs), as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marks his 74th birthday.

In a statement on Saturday, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs, Muhammad  Isa, said the Tinubu administration has moved disability inclusion from rhetoric to concrete action, describing it as a fundamental right and a pillar of social justice.

Isa noted that under the President’s leadership, inclusive governance has gained traction through deliberate policies and programmes targeted at improving the lives of persons with disabilities across the country.

According to him, key interventions include the appointment of a dedicated Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters, the development of a national demographic database for persons with disabilities, and the empowerment of thousands through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

“These efforts reflect a clear commitment to building a Nigeria where every citizen, regardless of ability, has equal access to opportunities in education, employment, social protection, and public life,” he said.

Isa further described it as an honour to serve under a leader who prioritises the voices and needs of marginalised groups, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda is fostering accessibility, empowerment and shared prosperity.

He added that the administration remains focused on ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind, particularly vulnerable populations who require targeted support.

The aide also offered prayers for the President, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength and good health to continue leading the country towards unity, equity and sustainable development.

President Tinubu clocks 74 amid ongoing efforts by his administration to deepen inclusive governance and expand opportunities for all Nigerians.
