NCPWD gets Presidential boost




The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) has received a presidential boost, with the Executive Secretary, Chief Ayuba Gufwan, expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his passion towards uplifting persons with disabilities.


"Years of clamour for intervention into disability matters have gained considerable attention. NCPWD is a prayer answered, and we must do everything humanly possible to sustain the inclusivity that we now enjoy from the Presidency," Gufwan said.


He added, "Now is the moment of Renewed Hope for Persons with Disabilities. Opportunities abound for Persons With Disabilities, but it takes all hands to be on deck to attain the enviable heights that the community aspires to."

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Abba Issa, congratulated Gufwan on his appointment and emphasized the need for collaboration to achieve meaningful productivity from persons with disabilities.


"We must work closely with the Commission to achieve our goals. The President is committed to supporting persons with disabilities, and we must ensure that we deliver on this promise," Issa said.


Gufwan assured that his appointment as Executive Secretary is a testament to the President's commitment to the well-being of persons with disabilities.


"My appointment is an added assurance by Mr. President to the community of persons with disabilities that their well-being is guaranteed. We will work tirelessly to ensure inclusivity and support for all persons with disabilities," he said.



The meeting was also attended by the Director, Human Resource Management, NCPWD, Mrs. AA Oguntade, and the Chief of Staff to the SSA to the President, Barrister Yusuf Iyodo.
