Ebonyi Governor’s Wife Wins NAWOJ Award for Women, Children, Youth Empowerment

The Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), South-East Zone, has honoured the wife of the Ebonyi State Governor with the Better Life Champion Award for her commitment to empowering women, children, and youths.

The award was presented at a recognition ceremony where NAWOJ leaders praised the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, for using her position and programmes to improve the lives of vulnerable groups in the state.

According to the association, she was honoured because of her dedication to promoting gender equality, supporting education, improving healthcare, and empowering rural women and young people.

Through her flagship projects and the Better Health for Rural Women, Children, and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation (BERWO), Mrs. Nwifuru has championed several initiatives that provide care and opportunities to the less privileged.

In her response, she thanked NAWOJ for the recognition and promised to continue her work to ensure that women, children, and youths in Ebonyi State have access to better opportunities.

“I remain committed to ensuring that women and young people in our state are given platforms to achieve their full potential,” she said.
